Ensemble Résonances

The Ensemble Resonances was born from the encounter of young musicians at the Lyon Conservatory, all sharing the same passion for early music. Their musical complicity as well as a common artistic sensibility have forged strong relationships over the years. After a solid training in the best European schools, the five musicians of the ensemble lead an intense musical career in numerous recognized ensembles and orchestras in France and abroad.

With two recorders, viola da gamba, theorbo and harpsichord, Resonances explores the wide and rich repertoire of chamber music of the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

Their performances were praised in numerous concerts in France and Europe. Un salon de musique, dedicated to French music of the late seventeenth and early eighteenth century, is their first recording.

Marine Sablonnière, recorder

 Marine Sablonnière began studying the recorder at RATP music school and with Pierre Ginzburg at the Conservatory of Val Maubuée. She graduated from the CNSMD in Lyon where she studied with Pierre Hamon, and also chamber music with ensemble Sesquialtera. She furthered studies with Pedro Memelsdorff in Barcelona and followed masterclasses with Peter Holstlag, Walter van Hauwe, Dan Laurin. She has played with numerous ensembles, including Capriccio Stravagante (Skip Sempé), Hesperion XXI (Jordi Savall), Les Musiciens du Louvre (Marc Minkowski), Pygmalion (Raphaël Pichon), Il Seminario Musicale (Gérard Lesne), Le Concert Spirituel (Hervé Niquet), Le Poème Harmonique (Vincent Dumestre), l’Arpeggiata (Christina Pluhar) and Les musiciens du Paradis. She plays in chamber music with Résonances and Bertrand Cuiller. She teaches recorder at the  Marseille Conservatory

Julien Martin, recorder

Julien Martin began studying the recorder at the Conservatory in Angers, and then with Pierre Hamon at the National Conservatory of Music in Lyon, Walter van Hauwe in Amsterdam and Pedro Memelsdorff in Milan. He is a member of Capriccio Stravagante (Skip Sempé), with which he has recorded for the Paradizo label. Invited as a guest soloist with the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra or B’Rock, he also plays with the ensembles Résonances and Sudestada. He has joined several orchestral productions conducted by Gustav Leonhardt, William Christie, Raphaël Pichon, Marc Minkowski, Hugo Reyne, Christina Pluhar, with Le Concert Français, Pygmalion, Les Musiciens du Louvre, La Simphonie du Marais, L’Arpeggiata… He teaches recorder at the Levallois-Perret Conservatory

Evolène Kiener, recorder

 Passionate about music at an early age and more particularly about the wind instruments, Evolène Kiener received a comprehensive music education in this field. After studying recorder and clarinet at the Conservatory in Limoges, she also learnt bassoon and piano. She graduated from Lyon Conservatory (recorder class of Pierre Hamon), and Paris Conservatory (bassoon class of Giorgio Mandolesi). She has worked with the greatest conductors, in both orchestral and chamber music. Member of the ensemble Pygmalion conducted by Raphaël Pichon, she regularly performs with Les Arts Florissants (William Christie), La Petite Bande (Sigiswald Kuijken), Capriccio Stravagante (Skip Sempé), Les Dominos (Florence Malgoire)… She teaches recorder at the Saint-Germain-en-Laye Conservatory.

Victor Aragon, viola da gamba

Born in Chile, Victor Aragon grew up in Venezuela where he built his own instrument, bow, and strings before he began studying the viola da gamba on his own. Three years later, he entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Lyon to study with Marianne Muller. He has also received advice from Jordi Savall, Wieland Kuijken, Roberto Gini, Philippe Pierlot. He has played under the direction of Roberto Gini, Pierre Cao, Jordi Savall, Philip Picket, Dominique Vellard, Gabriel Garrido… In chamber music he has played with ensemble Résonances, Pau Marcos Vicens, Marine Sablonnière, Bertrand Cuiller… He teaches viola da gamba at the Conservatoire de Meaux and Beaux-Arts music school in Montpellier.

André Henrich, theorbo and guitar

André Henrich graduated in 2000 from the Musikhochschule in Cologne, where he had studied the lute with Konrad Junghänel. He has given recitals at the Concertgebouw Bruges, the festival Baroque Strings and Bows in Poznan, Poland, at the Muziek Biennale Niederrhein, in India and Japan. As a chamber music partner he works regularly with Les Folies Françoises, Les Musiciens de Saint-Julien, Fuoco e Cenere and flautist Dorothee Oberlinger’s Ensemble 1700, as well as in the field of opera with Les Arts Florissants, Opera Fuoco and others.

He has participated in more than 30 CD-recordings and teaches lute and theorbo at the Conservatory of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés.

Esteban Gallegos, harpsichord

Born in Buenos Aires, Esteban Gallegos began the piano in Barcelona. Back in Argentina, he furthered his musical studies including piano, chamber music and choir conducting at the University of La Plata. His love for early music led him to France where he studied harpsichord with Willem Jansen at the Toulouse Conservatory and basso continuo with Yves Rechsteiner at the National Conservatory of Music in Lyon. He also followed masterclasses with Jesper Christensen, Pierre Hantaï, Jacques Ogg, Gabriel Garrido, Pedro Memelsdorff… He has played in Europe and South America with many early music ensembles. He is a member of the ensembles Résonances and Sudestada, and has also worked with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and Orchestre National de Lyon. He teaches harpsichord and basso continuo at the Conservatory of Valence, and Nadia and Lily Boulanger Conservatory of Paris.
